Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Boost Your Chances?

Author : Michael Update:May 17,2025

RAID: Shadow Legends is renowned for its RNG-based (random number generator) system that governs the summoning of champions. The thrill of pulling shards can quickly turn into frustration, particularly when players go through numerous pulls without securing a much-desired Legendary champion. To mitigate this, Plarium introduced a feature known as the "Pity System." In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the mechanics of this system, its effectiveness, and its impact on free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends is a subtle mechanic designed to boost your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, specifically Epics and Legendaries, after a prolonged period of unsuccessful pulls. Essentially, the longer you go without pulling a high-rarity champion, the more the game adjusts the odds in your favor, aiming to end those disheartening "dry streaks." Although Plarium doesn't officially detail this system within the game, its existence has been verified through datamining, developer insights, and the collective experiences of the player base.

RAID Shadow Legends Pity System Guide

Sacred Shards

  • Base Legendary chance: 6% per pull.
  • Mercy kicks in: After 12 pulls without a Legendary.
  • Following the 12th Sacred pull without a Legendary, each subsequent pull increases the Legendary odds by 2%.

The progression of increased odds works as follows:

  • 13th pull: 8% chance
  • 14th pull: 10% chance
  • 15th pull: 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

The effectiveness of the Pity System isn't a straightforward yes or no. While it's designed to help, many players report that the system's threshold is so high that they often pull a Legendary before reaching it. This raises the question of how the system could be improved. Having a Pity System is undeniably beneficial, particularly for a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends, where the grind for shards can be exhaustive.

For free-to-play players, the constant struggle to obtain Legendary champions can be disheartening. The Pity System is crucial, but enhancements could make it more impactful. For instance, reducing the pity threshold from 200 to around 150 or 170 pulls could lead to more frequent rewards and a better sense of progression for players.

Enhance your RAID: Shadow Legends experience even further by playing on a larger screen using a PC or laptop with BlueStacks. Enjoy the precision of keyboard and mouse controls for an elevated gameplay experience.
