New details about the highly anticipated game, Assassin's Creed Shadows, have surfaced online following an apparent artbook leak, which notably originated on a website primarily known for adult content.
As highlighted on the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, a comprehensive artbook titled "The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" has been widely shared. This extensive document features hundreds of pages filled with concept art, developer commentary, and insights into the development of the next major Assassin's Creed title.
The content of the leak is significant in itself, but the Reddit post further claimed the material first appeared on a hentai-focused platform, making the situation particularly unusual. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for an official statement.
The original gallery was promptly removed from the site in question but has since been preserved across various file-sharing services and image archives.

The leaked artbook reveals several intriguing elements, including early designs for pivotal historical figures, key city environments, and an array of weaponry. The artwork also appears to hint at potential narrative spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While authenticity cannot be fully verified until the game's release, the materials circulating appear to be legitimate.
This leak surfaces shortly before the scheduled launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows on March 20, 2025. The release date was previously shifted from late 2024 into February of next year.
During a recent preview event for Shadows, IGN spoke with Game Director Charles Benoit. He clarified that the additional month of development was primarily dedicated to polish and refinement, with no major systemic overhauls. The team did adjust "a couple of progression elements to enhance engagement and improve balance," Benoit noted. However, the main area requiring extra attention was the parkour system, which faced unique challenges due to the setting of Feudal Japan.
"Japanese architecture, with its complex roof designs, is probably the most intricate environment I've worked on compared to Odyssey or Syndicate," he explained. "We needed to develop specific code and new animations to ensure smooth and fluid movement. We focused on refining parkour transitions based on player feedback, and the system has seen significant improvements in recent months."
