Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Certain Heroes
A bug in Marvel Rivals is causing reduced damage output for some heroes at lower FPS settings (primarily 30 FPS). This affects heroes like Dr. Strange, Wolverine, Magik, Star-Lord, and Venom, impacting the damage dealt by some or all of their abilities. The issue is more noticeable against stationary targets.
The developers have acknowledged the problem, confirming it stems from the game's client-side prediction mechanism. This mechanism, designed to minimize perceived lag, is inadvertently impacting damage calculations at lower frame rates. While a precise fix date isn't available, the team is actively working on a solution.
The upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th is expected to include a fix or partial fix for this issue. If the Season 1 update doesn't completely resolve the problem, a subsequent patch will address the remaining issues. Despite this bug, Marvel Rivals, launched in early December 2025, boasts an 80% player approval rating on Steam, based on over 132,000 reviews. This demonstrates the game's overall positive reception, even with this ongoing issue. The developers' commitment to addressing the bug suggests a dedication to maintaining a positive player experience.
